Our Team

Wanda Jones
Founder | Executive Director
Wanda has over 19 years of experience serving the community, including volunteering with Narcotics Anonymous Hospital and Institutions at the Safety Center, as well as numerous drug treatment facilities throughout Modesto where she shares her story. She has led Recovery 12 Steps and Bible studies at the Redwood Family Center and the Modesto Gospel Mission. Her journey to recovery and wholeness forged her commitment to show others that there is a way out of homelessness and hopelessness—one day and one step at a time—but not alone. "Twenty years ago, I could not have imagined living a sober existence. However, through hard work and determination, I accomplished a feat that changed the trajectory of my life for the better. Staying in a sober living house saved me from addiction and taught me many life skills. This enabled me to escape homelessness and find support in maintaining and intentionally living out my sobriety."

Betty Davis
Chief Executive Officer
During Betty's formative years, she attended school in the Bay Area before moving on to study Accounting and Finance at UCLA. She then earned a degree from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. In the last 20 years, she worked in the Bay Area for electronics companies in accounting and finance before moving to the Central Valley to continue her career in the same fields. Her aspirations later led her to pursue a Real Estate Broker's License and open her own real estate brokerage. These endeavors have allowed her to become sensitive to the needs of others and provide them with valuable information before making decisions. She enjoys the opportunities that have arisen, enabling her to serve and help others at a level that those in need can understand and trust. "Dani'el House will continue to allow me to be of service to program participants, program administrators, and the community."

LaTanya
Chief Financial Officer
LaTanya has over three decades of experience in government management, complemented by a decade of experience as a real estate agent. Currently, she holds a certification as a life insurance agent, where she finds fulfillment in assisting families in making informed decisions regarding their financial future.
Throughout her career, LaTanya’s unwavering leadership and passion for helping others have propelled her to various leadership roles within these fields. She emphasizes that the cornerstone of her approach is the importance of “people.” Customer service is her guiding principle, and she strives to provide exceptional service in all aspects of her work.

Succatti Shaw
Chief Secretary
Succatti is a mother of three, a Bay Area native, and a fierce advocate for those without a voice. Her love for people and her compassion for others motivate her to serve and volunteer wherever she sees a need. She believes that our communities are only as strong as their weakest members, and it is our responsibility to strengthen them one member at a time. Living by her beliefs, she seized the opportunity to be part of a coalition of organizations in Alameda County that formed an ironclad eviction moratorium to protect the many residents who lost jobs due to COVID-19 and the stay-at-home order.

Brian Anderson
Executive Operations Manager | Resident Manager
After relocating to Modesto, Brian faced a difficult battle with addiction that ultimately led to homelessness. Seeking refuge, he turned to the Modesto Gospel Mission—a place that became the turning point in his life. Though he had always worked when able, beginning his career as a glazier specializing in the installation and repair of glass, addiction had pulled him far from the life he once knew. It was during his time at the Mission that Brian began walking a new path. He came to understand that God had a greater purpose for his life, a realization that gave him the strength to rebuild. Today, he proudly serves full-time as a maintenance worker with the Stanislaus County Regional Housing Authority. In addition, he has been with Daniel House for three years, initially as a resident manager and now as the Executive Operations Officer while continuing to serve as resident manager. Brian’s journey is a testament to redemption, service, and the power of second chances. Helping guide other men through their own transformations has been one of the greatest honors of his life, proving that no matter how far someone has fallen, there is always a pathway to success.
